The production of single malt whisky has been a long-held ambition for The Orkney Distillery. The necessary licenses were granted to the distillery in September 2023, with the first spirit flowing on International Whisky Day, March 27th 2024.

We’ve never been afraid to follow our own path at The Orkney Distillery, boldly merging tradition with innovation, ingenuity and a dash of rebelliousness. Now, we’re applying that same single mindedness to the release of private whisky casks through our exclusive Latitude 59 Club.

Latitude 59 club

Reflecting The Orkney Distillery’s place in the world at a latitude of 59 degrees North, the club is limited to only 59 members.

As a member, and a shareholder, you will own a part of the company and one of the first 59 casks produced at the distillery. Maturing in 2030, each 100-litre cask will produce around 120 bottles of single malt whisky at cask strength. Members will also receive a bottle of the distillery's first Orkney single malt whisky when it becomes available in 2027.
